IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
REMIND 101 (Parent and Student version): If you have texting and application capabilities on your phone, I encourage you to download the app and join me there! Composition Notebooks: One item that I prefer to use in the classroom is the composition notebooks. Your child will need 4 black and white composition books for the school year. I will be teaching structured note-taking skills, and these notebooks allow us to take a variety of notes. If you can supply your child with them, it would be most appreciated!
Friday Folders: I will use FRIDAY FOLDERS. These folders will be sent home on Fridays with all of your child’s recent work. There is a parent signature sheet in the folder. This signature will acknowledge to me that you have seen your child’s work and any mail sent home. This is a major communication tool used in my classroom.
Behavior Matters: I have clear and concise behavior expectations in my classroom. I use a wide range of POSITIVE behavior strategies to encourage an equally positive learning environment. I will regularly send home a half-sheet note (in green, yellow, or red) on Fridays describing (at a glance) your child’s behavior that week in the classroom. Think STOP LIGHT!
Snacks: I will allow students to bring a morning snack to have during a break. To ensure the health and safety of your child, and all of the children in our classroom, please always check what snacks your child is bringing to school!!
